When it came time to record the most important project of his career, IMS Technologies' Jeff Millar-Sax, wanted a sure hand at the helm as his producer and as the backbone of the band, so he invited Joshua Eagan to be a part of "Giving Shelter," the star-studded charity album they spent over 2 years in making.
Many of the sessions were recorded at Studio C at the legendary Steak House Recording Studio in North Hollywood. As the project progressed, Josh brought a pair of the Christopherâ„¢ Referencing Speakers into the control room and started using them for playback and mixing. He also played a variety of Jeff's favorite CD's in order to get an understanding of the "vibe" Jeff desired to capture for the project.
Jeff was, in his words: "astounded by the clarity and resolution" coming out of these speakers. He raved about being able to hear such subtleties as the movement of the drummer's feet on the kick and hi-hat pedals, the resonance of the drums, clarity of the attack and resolution of each note and chord from the acoustic guitars, the separation of tonality between the cajon, djembe and congas, and other such "revelations."
The speakers became a permanent fixture in the sessions and in the mixing process.
IMS Technologies' business charter is rather unique:
Raise funds to directly help cancer patients and their families
Help others achieve their goals
Bring cool, quality products to market
After Jeff learned that these speakers were designed by Josh's brother, it became a no-brainer to add them to the IMS Technologies product line: "Josh is family so to be in a position to help Chris is both my honor and my responsibility. The fact that Chris has put his trust in me to represent his efforts, inspires me to do my utmost to help get these amazing speakers to market."
A Portion of the Proceeds From the Album are Designated Toward Funding Housing for Cancer Patients & Their Families.
